I chose this book because it is one of my favorite, and by far has the most interesting content, the content being about Dante's journey through hell, purgatory, and heaven. Plus it was written around the 1300's and published in the 1500's, this very book sculpted 

most literature throughout history.

Catcher in the eye is one of my favorite books and I like the surreal dream Holden Caulfield describes in the book which the title comes from. The dream he describes is himself protecting children who are playing in a rye field near a cliff and he stops the from going over the edge. It's such an intriguing image and I've never seen it illustrated.
